On its surface, gameweek 5 certainly looked a little trickier to trade than others. This was largely down to the fixtures, with few teams having held an level of consistency thus far this season. Some results caught traders on the hop, with United turning over Newcastle and evenly-split goalfests between Chelsea and Southampton and Spurs and West Ham. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford both feature for the first time this week, as they combined for two goals and a missed penalty at St James’ Park, while Premier League new boys Kilman, Fofana and Furlong all put together strong showings. Harry Kane has been so impressive this year, as he put on another extraordinary display with two goals and an assist in the opening 15 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He leads the line for us for a third time already this season.
With a barrage of football beginning this week, we’re trialling a “lite” edition of The Numbers – a low-fat version, if you will. With another couple of weeks of European football to come, mixed in with the usual serving of Premier League activity, there will be plenty to trade and plenty from us to read.
